Jargon Reinvents Historic Space in West Asheville
Congratulations to film industry veteran turned restaurateur Sean Piper on the grand opening of Jargon! The West Asheville restaurant opened last month after an extensive construction project. The historic building, once a cobbler shop, was completely reconstructed behind the storefront's original facade and now features a brand new patio, basement, kitchen and some amazing decorative elements.
The project has been a labor of love for Sean and his wife, Shelly. Shelly hand-tiled the entry way's mosaic floor, and the couple flexed their creative muscles to give all kinds of ordinary items new life. The bar and table tops were crafted from an old bowling alley floor; the bathroom walls are tiled with Scrabble pieces; the menus are made from old game boards; and Jargon's drinking glasses were hand-crafted from wine bottles. The space oozes charm!
A huge thank you goes to Sean & Shelly Piper for trusting FRS Asheville with Jargon's kitchen design. We provided kitchen equipment, walk-ins, dining room furniture, china, flatware and assorted supplies, and we hope the newly equipped space will serve guests well!
Jargon offers a growing menu of small plates, desserts, specialty cocktails and beer, and the restaurant frequently hosts musical acts. Follow Jargon on Facebook for the inside scoop!
