Maui Tacos® Opens in Downtown Charleston
Recognized by “Nation’s Restaurant News” as a Hot Concept winner, Maui Tacos® positions themselves as a “A Vacation You Can Eat™”. Internationally acclaimed celebrity chef and restaurateur Mark Ellman opened the first Maui Tacos on the Island of Maui in 1993.
FRS had the pleasure of helping Mike and Jennifer Seltzer bring this cool and laid-back dining experience to Charleston. Their renovated downtown space at 200 Meeting Street is the company’s first franchise location on the U.S. Mainland with their eight other locations on Hawaiian Islands. According to their website, a Las Vegas location is coming soon.

Ranking as one of the top 20 tacos in the United States by ZAGAT has helped Maui Tacos create a huge buzz and massive following across the globe. You will definitely want to check out their menu where you will find a fusion of fresh Mexican foods paired with the exotic tastes of Hawaii.
FRS Charleston team members Thomas Coleman and Sara Webb kicked off the project in May of 2018, and it was recently completed in December. We provided kitchen design as well as equipment and smallwares. Maui Tacos of Charleston celebrated their Grand Opening on January 17th.
